Where do you see anyone complaining about food stats? Everyone is complaining about ua.
Food stats has nothing to do with one hitting someone

Food stats aren't overpowered, its the current atk weight system with the major differenes in ua/mc. I'm saying the food stats is more of the final factor not the sole purpose of stats. Since a 534 mc char CAN 100-0 a 1600 ua char with one cleave moving and +5 adv

this is why you arent considered "old" enough, Scubas... at least post the time it takes with a shovel.

so, you assume devs are too stupid not to be aware of the issues many players have mentioned without you speaking out?

i am more interested in hearing what devs now think of those new changes they had made in salem. i.e. inspirationals that are consumed only when you are online, spamming the same kind reduces lp, making the pve harder and harsher that animals ko you and often poison you very easily, causing the loss of your stats and all items in invent, no items in inventory allowed when teleporting except from/to home and the main city, the complex farming and boardmaking - though complex as in more work and planning before tasks - that too many new players had to rely on guides and tutoring with less intuitive features (that has a lot to do with the seatribe unique ui that many players from other games arent familiar with), the effort-and-time demanding crime system which actually made many players rage and scream, gaining no hp(but losing) and no teleport while in crime, the notorious waste claim, real permadeath with no sliders other than paid claims, multiple claim ownership per char, the adorable key system that does not allow non-registered chars to use, time based restrictions that limits players grinding, and so on and on.

i would love to hear which part of salem systems they are considering to import to hafen, and which they find not good enough and want to throw away. not in details, but more like direction-wise. because quite a few things i found rather "tedious" than "challenging" or "thought/effort" demanding, but it could be just me being too conservative or lazy and all the others who claim to know better may find them otherwise, like potjeh. (i should probably mention that i didnt play salem enough to give good enough feedback myself or to be familiar enough with the systems, out of real life issues and pc trouble back then.)

i think it's ok posting the time without shovel as it's more common without - also it's prolly used as an example for a lot of tasks take longer time then it would suit a game ... i guess the main faction of all players ever played asked themselves "oh man why must it take that long" when removing a stump (and no i don't walk around with a shovel in my Inventory all the time but hey i'm neither "old" :P )

I think your point is moot thomas, especially considering the only people who would grind characters to high levels would be at least average at combat, and a 5 adv moving cleave would be unrealistic to achieve in most situations (he can just stern back or stand still until you get close for him to val.)

If someone got a character to 4800 UA, as in your earlier example, there's no way in hell he would lose to someone with 1600 MC unless it was pure dumb luck. If he was actually really bad at combat SOMEHOW, then it's not inconceivable, but I really doubt he would waste his investment like that.
Of another era.

I have to agree, 4800 ua is retarded. I am just trying to point out that maybe melee combat needs a nerf on the weight advantages to make UA more reliable for defense. I am not saying someone with higher stats can't win, I'm just saying it is indeed possible for lower stat chars to kick a titans ass, not likely but doable. Which from reading nearly everywhere, everyone is complaining that having a titan is like just smashing everyone's head in.

For example, instead of 1.75 weight make it like 1.5 for a val and 1.25 for a cleave or something similiar to that. I think nerfing it would help make fights little more interesting, rather than having someone trying to get 2 val strikes on one guy to down him instantly.

i think the time it takes with a shovel is just decent and its okay without a shovel too when i just want one or two stumps done, knowing it takes that long. but when there is a tool already to speed up the said action, you shouldnt just ignore that feature for feedback, imo. you dont normally complain how slow harvesting without a scythe is.

the most interesting - at least i found so and agreed - feedback given by players on salem in the beginning was that by potjeh pointing out how the "time" each task takes was somehow all in-between, too fast-paced to wait while chatting, too slow-paced to wait doing nothing. now i dont remember how fast or slow each task was like any more, but that is something many players should consider before asking for faster pace of everything, unless those who claim to find it a big problem just want an instant click and voila game for everything. i mean, devs did give faster paced actions in salem, so they had that in mind when they programmed salem.

Getting full advantage is a lot easier said than done. An easier and cheaper tactic would be to simply use throwaway rage alts for op knocks and then move in for a chop with a real character. But yeah, I fully agree that double val strike is OP, a game with investment like this shouldn't have a lower TTK than most FPS games. In general, I think melee damage needs to be normalized so it's not either OHK or 0 damage ping almost every time.

I would personally love to see stats influence the hourglass timers similar to mining. The whole stat rewarding better hourglass timers really is rewarding on its own. For example you would start at 30 seconds removing a stump with a shovel at level 1 carpentry. As you leveled up your carpentry it would reduce in time. At some very high level anything could be made instant. Other areas would also gain the benefit in carpentry. Picking leaves from the mulberry tree, picking apples, cutting or chopping logs and so on.

Similar it would be nice if other stats would shorten the hourglass in other skills. Cooking for sausage making and baking, survival for faster animal butchering, smithing for smithing crafts, farming for farming crops and so on.

Right now alts do the lumbering outside the town. If stats would influence the hourglass timers I would assume alot more people would come out of there walls to chop trees for example.

Skill values more dimensional: quality and time - yes please (instead "instant" better "bunch" - i.e. when harvesting)
