I never bothered with combat before world 4, never ever. I stuck to farming, it was O.K. enough LP for me to just stick to and be happy. That, coupled with the fact that I didn't join a town, and thus participate in H&H politics last world pretty much voids whatever opinion I would voice on this matter.

I started grinding my unarmed combat, I did this by making buckets. I get about 125 lp per bucket now, with 45 unarmed combat and I'm still hesitant in fighting foxes because I hear they can just kill me and set me back all the work I've done thus far. Now, from what I've read, Jorbs argument is that you can make 150 odd lp per minute while hunting boars. Well, I can make about 400~lp or more from making buckets. In a game like this, that pretty much rules out the point of hunting for LP. Now that being said, the only point is the resources. You of course get meat, hide, and bone from hunting, however in my limited H&H experience there isn't a stat (FEP wise) that you can get from meat that you cant get from farming. (However I may be entirely wrong in that regard.) That makes hunting more of a chore than a play style, who wants to go out looking for bears, foxes, boars, and deer when they can plant a field and while its growing go out and clear cut a supergrid for LP? I'm sure you WOULD find animals while cutting a bald spot on the map to gain LP, and then you'd get your leather and bone and whatever meat you wanted from the animals, but there is still no reason to go out and hunt.

It's kind of disappointing to me that I used all that LP to get my Unarmed to 40, as I probably wont ever be able to use that skill to get that LP back at any efficient rate.

Actually, this is great. Finally I a farmer doesn't have to be 40 levels behind a hunter.

Hooray for J&L :D!

for the sake of my poor little hearthling do not make animals more abundant..I ma already scared to go out in the woods at this point..My first hearthling died already due to a boar attacking while I turned from the screen for just one second..I have not got to hunt that much but will soon..The hunting is no different than it was when I started in world 3..It just takes time..The only thing I hate is the grind to get to the point of being able to hunt at all..But that is what a beginning character has to do..

Also being a almost solo player it does make it a bit more challenging, but I over come all these odds in world 3 and was pretty good by the end of that world and will do it again in this world..Time is all it takes and rushing to get everything just leaves you with nothing to do and a boring game..Just play the game people and enjoy it..

Not only do you get LP while doing this method, but you also get a place to live, a well rounded character stat wise and most importantly you have fun doing it.

You asked how people are supposed to get LP before they get hunting and I told you.

My butthurt comes from the fact that I didn't get the chance to abuse it that everyone else did.

Stop the nerfs in the middle of a world because, contrary to popular belief, you can catch up.

The nerf was necessary, the nerfs to character development at crucial times are really pissing me off.

I went hunting yesterday with my friend for the first time in this world, we took a boat each and went together in a river.
In 2 hours we found like 3 bears, around 6 foxes and 4-5 boars. Killed 2 bears and all boars. We also found like 7 dead fox corpses and 3 of boars. Do the maths
If you say that you can only find an animal each 30mins, you are retarded.

My friend killed both bears and some boars, he got close to 100k lp in those two hours, and it took him that long because I was pausing everytime to forage.
