Commodore was *the* home computer in Yugoslavia, Apple II was practically unheard of.

It was in the US, too, because they were less than half the price of an Apple II. The Apples were just ubiquitous in the schools in the US. It was even the same chipset as the Apple II if I recall right (Motorola processor and microcontroller). Now they just do Intel/AMD based systems. Only wish the Amigas had stayed competitive.

For those not familiar with the Tandy computers: Google the Radio Shack TRS-80, better known as the "Trash-80".

edit: This has got to be said. Xerox didn't fail on the GUI. They just didn't see it as cost effective to develop. That's why they let Jobs & Co have it for a handshake. Jobs figured out that specialized hardware, mass produced, could be cheap enough to run such a "complicated" design with enough horsepower left over to do anything else (and if I recall right, that first Mac could do a good bit more than the most recent in the Apple II series). Was it something a computing giant would take time to figure out? Never, which is why giants eventually die and the startups become giants who eventually die. Such is the circle of life.

The keyboards would of gotten smaller with or without the iphone, and I honestly couldn't care less for touchscreens.

Seriously this. Having an actual keypad makes a hell of a difference and I wish I had known this before picking up a new Android. Touch screen keypad is nice and all but does not compare in the slightest.

Why is designer clothing so popular even though it's not better in any way than many no-name products? Hype. Fashion designers and Steve Jobs alike don't sell products, they sell hot air. Which is precisely why I dislike them both. And their customers, because there's nothing more obnoxious than hipsters.

some people buy designer clothings solely for its brand name or hype, but not all.
some buy them for its credibility, some for designs, some for the company/brand policy or to support them, and so on.

it is fine you dislike them and their customers and you have your reasons, but that doesnt make your opinion objective.
fashion/trend have always moved people to react, and have formed new cultures. (and some disappear as fads)

some new players started joining here, for the hype of salem or peterwhoever's vid, idk. some of them might find this game as one of their favorites and may stay on to become serious players. some just make old same whiny threads and rage. some may just get bored and be gone like many others have.

that statement makes me think it is exactly why people call Steve Jobs an "Innovator". (not inventor, just in case)
we tend to stick to what we feel the most comfortable with, in this case, keyboards here. our generation is too used to keyboards, and im afraid we may have to wait till the next generation, who got the free choice there with no typing skills, to decide which to be adopted better. the younger generations may decide that touchscreen is total shit as well, and it may disappear, but we do not know yet, ...do we?

i still have problems typing emails on my cell while i find teenagers typing incredibly fast with one hand(or just thumb). to me, touchscreen or not, too small keyboards/buttons sucks too much to decide what is better.
believe or not, ive got real thin and nice fingers and i can make tiny origami cranes like a pro.
