To go back to topic. The thing I don't get about the jump is the strange record he didn't break. 17s short of the longest free fall. That's a lot of time for a free fall. How exactly was the longest free fall made to have been 17 longer if it was obviously jumped from only airoplains?

No matter how short such a remark is. That is unforgiveable in my book and shows his mind-set.

Oh my. I had mistakenly assumed when it was written. Oops.

However, I did not wish to engage in a debate about Mises or why he's so great. Whatever fringe article from his earlier years Mises wrote at one time or another (I'm sure I can do some digging around of my own to paint your 'idols' in a bad light too) does not change my mind about him, or my laissez faire beliefs.

However, if you want to discuss actual socioeconomics, I'd be more than happy to talk to you about business cycle theory in PMs :D

"4 minutes and 19 seconds, 17 seconds shy of mentor Joseph Kittinger's 1960 jump."

Joseph did pretty much the same thing as him. He didn't jump out of an airplane he jumped from a balloon.

Likely had a lot to do with air resistance and how close he was willing to cut it before he pulled his cord.

Correct.

He was going quite a bit faster than in the Excelsior jump meaning if he waited any longer to pull his chute he risked not slowing down enough before he impacted the earth.

Hey guys I study Applied Economic Sciences.

Now I haven't read everything said, but, the jump was absolutely not at all helpful for science. This was simply a marketing stunt for Redbull. In fact baumgartner has been pulling off similar stunts for redbull for quite a few years. This is simply the most famous one.

Felix says that he's “officially retired from the daredevil business,'' "I did it all. I had enough. It's time to move on.”
