Your VERY WRONG , sorry i don't like to rag on mods but it's deserved. Civ 4 was a terrible joke, civ 3 is the true best civ game of the WHOLE series.

Civ5 was a travesty. Civ4, with expansions, streamlines and improves on combat, city building, and the general flow of the game. I can't recommend the Beyond the Sword expansion enough.

Civ4 is probably the best all-around civilization game since Civ2, or maybe Call to Power. Civ4's combat is garbage, though, and Civ3's had the best of the series (except it's backwards unit tree).

Most of the domestic, economic and social organization aspects of Civ4 is well made though, although Religion and especially Corporations can be kind of broken.

I've been playing a bunch of random MUDs starting with Materia Magica

jeez I dont even know this guys name Mushibag? Showed me MUME, a Tolkien MUD if you're into that. I played that shit for weeks just running around babbling about Eru Iluvatar and banging on a drum and leading a bunch of animals around Bree.
