Point is these nabs are giving suggestions they think will favour them in combat when in fact no change will give them the advantage over any of the factions,

"remove movement" = 30 man gankfest 24/7

And then when you realize all these changes suck in two weeks you permaquit the game.

Your funny considering most of the time i've spent playing this game was spent with a group of about 6 people where we all used movement combat to fight these big groups of people... I've come out of 11 v 2s with kills, killed people in retarded situations where it shouldn't of been possible and went through the whole of last world with less then 450 UA... Do you really think i would of asked for nerfs to thunder and moving hits if i were looking to give myself the advantage ;).

On the topic of thunder though. I could see it being better if they changed it to cost attack or something so you couldn't just spam it. The whole thought process is literally "Are you at ranged? If yes, use thunder" atm.

Hm, what if it gave IP as normal, but cost like .3 advantage?

These who voted for removal, propably grind their characters with bots 24/7 since the start of the world to be pro.

We all know there are people capable of creating bots that forage for curiosities and such and have done so, but really.............. "grind their characters 24/7"

Do you understand how curiosities work? Said people would theoretically have a never-ending supply of curiosities but you can only equip so many at one time and then you have to wait. This means you could spend an hour or two each day or so collecting curiosities and still keep up with these people you are so concerned about so don't start crying about bots or no-lifers because that's not the issue at hand.

I still don't understand what is wrong with thunder as it is.

What's wrong with it is that, if you run away, both sides get lots of IP, rendering the "IP" system meaningless which also means people can use knock teeth instead of punch, etc.
Might as well remove IP if it stays.
However, Potjeh's idea makes no sense to me.
I agree with "make it work only on animals"

Why are you guys all whining. despite what gets posted on congress a lot of fights are small 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 fights... someone attacks you while you on mountain or in swamp foraging etc... only the major factions have large fights and combat should not be catered to those situations...

How many combat moves have you guys ever used since movement combat became popular? like 4?

I think call to thunder needs to be removed/changed to make the combat system more interesting... otherwise people will just run around like retards until they have enough IP to kill their target. a ranged combat move has no place in the combat system.

ramones wrote:Not sure why would thunder be such negatife shock to tamming, since you can use dash or charge with same effect due to twitch bug animals have. With current tamming you never get hit at all if you do it right.

I think this is bullshit, forcing people to learn a specific exploit in order to do some actions is a bad decision.

So CDTT should never be used for tamming, instead some other process should be done, which should be more dangerous and way shorter.

This is legitimate, although thunder is a placeholder until better mechanics for taming are ever made. One thing is herd animal AI is batshit retarded in my opinion, and the logistics of moving livestock is unnecessarily tedious in the game (no herding, no river fords for the shitton of stupid rivers constantly zigzagged around, bad gate/fence pathfinding). Livestock trading is worthless in the hearthlands, so all livestock have to be locally tamed; and not everyone is gonna be a combat expert to handle this economic action. Thunder atleast helps provide a safer option to collect the IP for taming, and the downside is the long duration of it increasing the already tedious activity.

The grievances against Thunder stem from PvP chases, and Potjeh already suggested a good counter for this: lower its effective range. The idea of only having it used against animals would work, too, but that's a lot more artificial a restriction than it's range being lowered.

Also, why isn't Throw Sand ever used? If pooling up tons of IP is the problem, then why aren't more IP-attacking moves being used? Maybe buff Throw Sand to drain more IP?

Make throw sand ranged.
He's throwing it, isn't he?
Bam.
Or make it cost something that isn't IP, like half of the attack bar, and there you have it. Movement combat without too much stacking.
