iirc, those who asked for the combat fix the loudest in IRC when devs were around listening were those in ainran and dis/lo, though. i think they heard what pvpers said more than anyone else, unless ip had different opinions and talked about it there.

I always thought that was the pvp'ing factions playing damage control rather than them instigating a change in the combat system, though to be frank the implementation of movement combat never benefitted Dis in any particularly strong way. ('Sides from coles and a few others)

This.

Also ainran didnt realize how bad these changes were until a few months into the world, at the start they thought it was the best thing ever to happen.

Nope, recommended it to Jorb and Loftar because it seemed the population was not in favor of losing good characters to bad characters in 20v2's, but becuase we thought it was the best ever. And It was just me and Naowhut, Naowhut was against the change.

Though, we also suggested he add some kind of stamina drain to getting hit moving, so there was still a consequence to choosing to flee in a fight. If I recall a few other ideas were mentioned but nothing stuck.

EDIT: Worth saying, by population I meant people like Burgingham and Pandemonium, or Odditown and the like, other people had a strong presence in earlier in worlds and had not been playing as much at that time.
You may have foiled the plans of BAD-EVIL this time, but there is no rest for the wicked.

It's ok folks, Haven & Hearth: Classic will live on inside of server emulators such as mine. If Haven 2.0 does not turn out to be awesome as fuck then I will work on my server harder until it's good and playable. :)

Anyway, I believe that Haven 2.0 will be great as long as the gameplay resembles H&H rather than Salem.

ikr, fleeing is top tactix 2014, I knew right away when they released the changelog it would suck.

Also I would ingest cyanide rather than playing on your server oddity.

Exactly my point Valten, I figured you guys didn't facilitate the change exactly as it turned out, it was probably a bit of a tug of war between you the other community members and the devs.

I do believe though that the remaining people engaging in pvp activities (if there really are any left at this stage) would very much enjoy a revert to the old system, with flaws and all.
To me the biggest hurdle of haven was always the lag of world 6, and the numerous bugs, I was always personally a tremendous fan of the combat system as it rewarded someone who spent time fighting rather than someone who spent time on a field. Of course this is entirely up to personal opinion and should not reflect the game necessarily, it would be very interesting to experience the old combat system with the currently way more polished version of haven though.

edit: cannot into english

cause that would mean i just hit 1200 ua for NO REASON, and that would suck for current players (me). so leave combat as it is. a increase in range so u can hit ppl when they are running away would still be very appritiated tho :) 1 hit break, next hit down, wud work if u cud hit ppl running away ;)
