If it doesn't work he's not dangerous, just creepy.

why are you even on this thread if you dont see what he is doing and rather choose to ask whether it works or not?

Because it is an interesting tangent? :)

i dont see whats so interesting about objectification or dehumanization (and racism), but maybe it is a mans nature to first question its effectiveness instead. and i cannot blame feminists for shouting against that.

A friend of mine actually linked me to one of that guy's video the other day. We had fun making fun of pick-up artists in general while I watched it. Towards the end of the video he had pretty much pinned a convenience store worker's head to the counter and was forcibly biting her ear. It was all rather disgusting but I watched through it anyway out of a need to know why I should hate something. Throughout the entire video every single girl was desperately trying to get away from him but he was quite literally forcing them down.

Personally, I'm glad that he was barred from a talk in Australia and will likely see similar negative attention in other countries. However it does seem pretty unfair to target one individual but such is the way attention works and he was, as pick artists are wont to do, aiming to get as much attention as possible whether it was negative or positive. I hope that anyone who does try to follow his instructions meets with the appropriate legal ramifications.

Oh, come now. Surely you can see that it raises interesting questions about the human condition in general? I mean, douchebag though he may be, we all knew there were millions of his kind in the world to begin with, which makes him fairly unremarkable (not, of course, to be confused with excusable) in my book. That there are indications of his "methods" actually working to any degree is more remarkable, then, precisely because I'd expect people to rather react just as you just did.

I don't see how he's worse than a hardcore racist, and I don't advocate persecuting them either. Freedom of speech is easy to uphold when people are speaking things that don't offend; cases like this is where it's really put to test. IMO any speech that isn't directly dangerous should be allowed. And if he's ineffective, he's not dangerous.

i got your point there, but

if you, in any case, find any indications of it working, its not his "methods" to get you laid, but its the girl(s) you pick.
his harrassment or whatever he has shown hes doing in his vids (that he encourages others to do) is the issue, and his words saying it works is another matter.

Potjeh wrote:I don't see how he's worse than a hardcore racist

it is not about relativity who is worse. we all know there are too many freaks and creeps in the world, he just happened to be the one for a timely topic for this thread.
let me ask, you would love to support a girls freedom of speech, advertising her vid in public on how pathetic you were with her - no matter the truth - gaining certain popularity from it on internet and starts touring around the world?
