Well I'm more or less floored by this development. I don't have any positive/negative reactions just yet because the possibility just hadn't crossed my mind.

I think I'm pretty much double super excited to see just what happens now, though, even if we will miss out on silly crap like creamy cocks. (also curious how the 'bridge time' between H&H and Salem will be handled.)

Huh?!

Edit for clarity: I know what mount and blade is...

loftar: The inner chaos of the Jorbian mind is hard to conceal. :)
jorb: It's called creative license. You know, that thing you seem to want to apply to logic, grammar and coherence? :)

I'm not going to make a judgement on Salem until I learn more about it, it still sounds pretty vague. I can only hope they've learned from past mistakes and made a more user-friendly interface and intuitive gameplay for this one.

As long as user-friendly doesn't mean carebear and intuitive doesn't mean simplistic.

Yeah, hopefully they can hire someone else to work on UI.

I find the setting kind of weird though. The hearthlands were great because it is a made-up place, so anything goes conceptually. Calling the game Salem brings up all kinds of expectations.

I'm shocked...
Well this explains why they aren't answering the farming bug - they are onto a different game or at least using this one as a base.
It makes sense they should work on the one that will pay them.

There is evidence in this game that the just don't always prevail. People get robbed all the time -- people get killed for saying hello in another language. Why should we expect different in another game name? Leaving the decision to be good or bad has been tested in H&H and if you look at the forums you can see that evil does win. The bad guy can attack and kill multiple people a day and is revered by others and they joke about it like "stealing pants" and Klaue (sp?) who people feared just by their name that night at nople in W3. You bring that into a scale of 100k players and you'll see some REAL forum complaints. If you don't believe that it could happen in a larger game, I reference to you stranglethorn vale for anyone that used to play wow before Burning Crusade. Lowbies being camped for days at a time and higher lvls just getting their jollies killing them question. Apparently humans at their core are sometimes just asses. You gonna leave that up to lack of policing? Bad move - it's been demonstrated that all it does is lead to them acting up because they can. I can't imagine griefing someone for days and I imagine that those that do it are either children or those that are belittled at work and feel some form of control by picking on virtual enemies and that's why games like counter strike have a following. BTW if you lack something called empathy you should take a test for psychopathy or at least figure out if you are a high functioning autistic - humans are supposed to let others live - not cause trouble to strangers not harming or hurting them unless they are wrapped up in themselves and are prone to take action due to paranoia - look into egocentric disorders also. I'm telling you that there is indeed something wrong mentally with you if you login to a game to hurt what you believe to be real people behind the keyboard for no particular reason especially when you choose those weaker than you to attack so that you know you will win.

Can I offer some advice while I'm here?
Improve the graphics - US audiences have lots of lovely 3d games to choose from and you have to wow them with graphics.
If your market is elsewhere that's a different story. I don't propose to know those gamers but those that I've met that do game in the larger mmos - the sub games - always comment about graphics and most of the time try or don't try games based on it. They laugh at anything that looks mildly dated and judge games accordingly no matter their content.
