I tell you, I've literally had nightmares of the server crashing on me and trying to debug it under stress. This is not only healthy for me...

Aww, that's no good man. Don't worry about down time too much, the only people who will really hate you for it are jerks anyway, the rest of us understand (but we'll keep nagging anyway of course) : :D

I know you guys are not really fond of the idea of donations or anything of the sort. But having a way to donate does not have to show neediness, but rather the fact that some people just plainly like the game.

I don't see the harm in having a way to give donations to support the game (in extension the servers/website). It's just a way of showing appreciation.

As they've said before, it's not so much that they don't want your money, but more so that they don't need your money, and don't want to go through the hassle of figuring out all the fine details of how their tax system would tax international donations.

Loftar posted the server specs. 1.8ghz and 1gig ram. They need money. I haven't had a PC with those crap specs in like 7 years. But in all honesty, I love the game. It's great, but I'm afraid your players are going to start dropping like flies if these crashes continue. I'm pretty sure the hassles of setting up a paypal donation button are far less than the stress of pleas from hundreds of players who are tired of the rubber-band walking and near-daily crashes.

Down, then up, then down again.

Edit; And up.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

I can quite well assure you that whatever better hardware I could buy won't automatically debug the code for me. :)

For reference, the two recent crashes now seems to be something weird with the crafting system. Somehow, people have managed making sausages while walking away from their meatgrinders. I'm not sure how they do that, but I do have an overhaul of related systems planned that ought to remedy the bug anyway.
