I agree I think C# is more for a non-massive game (the first "M" in "MMO") but is perfectly reasonable for single player and multiplayer games. It may actually make a better client I think theirs a post in Wizard's Tower about the idea.

Have you guys ever thought that maybe it's not the programming language and it's really the equipment or the dev's coding style?

Then again most people that don't truly understand just blame the language as a scapegoat.

I thought it was the Dev's style too. Always considered equipment secondary. I use NOTEPAD!

OpenGL is great, but the JavaVM just can't execute commands fast enough for a great frame rate if you want any kind of decent graphics.

Do you know lwjgl? I'm not sure how fast it really is, but it sounds promising ;)

Yes. The art of hilarity will be complete.

We plan on eventually doing Mac and Linux though. Although SO MANY DISTROS so we'll prolly just do Ubuntu and some others.

Also we switched to C++.

Uh... So you think that... one needs to port to each individual distro or... nevermind...

What level of experience do your coders have? I need to figure out whether to file this thread under trolling or sad naivete.

Nah. I know that every distro is similar enough, but still man.

Those differences.

And it's already been posted.

Read pages 1-10, then come back.

Word of advice.

Just.. stop posting. Until you have working open beta.

Then come back and invite people.
