Yeah, so it is left to the community, which is in part why I started the thread in the first place. It seems, though, that no one gives a shit anymore if bots become super accessible. At least right now it requires some knowledge of Java to understand how the scripts work. Your average newbie 15-20 year old playing this game probably doesn't have the knowledge to figure it out. So what happens when I release easy tutorials to level the playing field? I guess we'll just wait and see.

Again, its not that I WANT this to be the norm, my hand is simply forced.

Do it. Can only help to level the playing fields. It is what Alg did too with his autohearthing and well you gotta deal with the hate, but you are doing the right thing.

forced...?

When someone will aim a gun on your mouth, you'll be forced. Until then, all what you do, is your own decision and responsability. You know the conseguence, you know the gain, the loss, the risk, you can know everything now because you've saw several other example of what this will become.

So you'r decision is ALL you'r fault. No one else.

You're not being FORCED into anything as Flame said, no one is holding you down forcing you to post things that you feel will even an already broken playing field.

0 defensive weight isn't even that bad if swords wouldn't just 1 shot people as long as u have full martial. Gonna be honest, i think the getting 1 shot due to sword damage sticks out more to me then 0 defensive weight. It's one thing to mess up and take a hit for 100, but taking one for 1000 is a whole other story. I don't really have a solution to it though, because flat out reducing damage on soldier swords would give them the Rbow treatment i'm sure. Perhaps penetration and damage done reduced? So swords won't one shot you, but still be effective to do damage. Also, it would abolish the issue of swords being completely and utterly useless at the start of a world.

I don't necessarily disagree though. Though i still stand by there is really no reason to get hit moving in combat. You have to take into account the issues that could arise in a chase as well, if someone can just keep running because you don't break their defense bar there's a problem too.

just some thoughts, feel free to pick them apart ;)

Why not? Doesn't make a big difference anyway. It's even more fair.
Hope you have a great day

When you play a game and then you stop to play that game to let it be played by your pc, trust me, something is going wrong in your mind and in that game.

I would be super curious to find out what people are actually using bots for, truth be told. Whenever we've looked at the user statistics an overwhelming majority of the users seem to come from unique IP-addresses, which I've taken as an indication that the world is at least to a very large extent populated by actual players (IP-address is a very heuristic data point in the context, of course, but nevertheless). Foraging seems like an obvious application for bots, especially given how hearth fires work presently, farming I would also assume is being botted to one extent or another.

I think the idea that client modifications should not be released because they break the game is a bit silly. If client modifications can break the game then the game deserves to be broken.
