It would be cool if non humanoid monsters still got the "loot" from whomever/wahtever they kill but have it stored in a lair of some type so when a humanoid character "does" kill them they get a loot pile. I used to love that about Ultima Online, you never knew what loot you'd get from an Orc, fuckers were always grabbing shit off of player corpses....

Monsters will generate loot when killed, depending on the type of monster. For example, slimes will drop ectoplasm depending on how strong the slime was. Wolves will drop hide if they are grown. Spiders will drop silk, etc.

Monsters will only drop loot if they've achieved various stages. You won't be able to just create your own monsters and then kill them with your main character to 'farm' them. Moreover, all creatures will defend themself in combat in Topia, so you can't force your own creature to 'not fight back'.

I agree with this. God damnit Painhertz look what the Salem forums have done to us.

What if I don't want to die? What if I'm the best character in the whole server? I have to die for that to be recognized? Seems like a silly way to grade you imo. Also you said earlier that you can have murder in 3 hours. Why would you want that? If you expect people to make intricate trade routes and other random BS like that on the whole then you don't have much experience with this niche style of games. What you will get is people like APX and CDev making uber bots to give to their uber faction to pvp against the slightly less uber people with their slightly less uber bots. You will get mass pvp, mass griefing, and depending on the player-base that will either make or break the game. But either way your numbers will be low. Not high enough for a subscription fee I'll bet. Sure, people all start out peaceful, (w1-3 and even then there was violence and griefing) but eventually it will just degenerate.

The 'hall of fame' section on the main page will be devoted to showing live statistics of living characters. Everyone will be able to see how awesome you are while your character is alive.
If your caravans and trade routes are being killed, then hire some guards to escort them. This game aims to give the players proper tools to defend themselves. Like ive said countless times, there will be plenty of things in place to prevent rampant killing sprees.

May I humbly suggest a great wall of china, complete with hulking zombies chained every meter along its length, that viciously gnaw with their infectious teeth at any bots that dare approach?

They will, of course, infect the bots with zombie-itis, who in turn will do the same to their bot compatriots.

Biological warfare at its finest.

Another issue with the hall of fame is the inability to hide your stats if you'd like? I personally wouldn't want me haven/salem stats spread out across the forums in a perma-death game. What of your character information will it show?

Cool, so the people who try to kill me know how many people they need to take me down.

Perhaps the combat in this game will be based on something that revolves around actual skill and not just simple mathematics like some other boring ass game I know that's made by an idiot dev and has completely terrible combat.
