I'd like to point out that the "idea" I gave was just something I came up with at the spot. Afterwards I realised stealing LP would be a very bad idea, since you could easily build up an alt and steal his LP with your main. But I like the general idea of minor punishments to criminals rather than always having to kill or raid someone.
