I know it's a fool's errand, but after all the excitement of the past few days, the RoB is much the worse for wear. There's hardly any grass, no trees, and torn-up road everywhere. It would do much good to set a good example for newbies and make the game more enjoyable for anyone who passes through the RoB if players spent a little time cleaning up.
I myself have tried to plant some trees around, and perhaps other players may be interested in contributing as well. Of course there's a chance that goon or anti-goon activity will undo some of the work, I think that if each player contributes just a little bit- a few tiles of grass or road, a couple trees or a new runestone with directions- then there will be a great net gain. And, of course, with more players visiting the RoB to work on it, there will be more chance for vandals to be caught and strung up.
Perhaps part of this effort would be the creation of a town around the ring that would allow vandals to be detected and also would give new players a place to learn the basic skills. This, however, is a more distant goal than simply cleaning the rubble and making someplace that could once again be useful.
I will continue bringing trees over to the RoB. Many of them will be Apple and Mulberry, with pines farther out. Roadbuilders and grassers are also needed, as well as talented fighters to check in occasionally who might be interested in getting some XP from bashing troublemakers.
Let me make one last thing clear- I don't blame "goons" for anything. There where several people who are goons who ruined the RoB before, but most goons are actually good players.
