hunting result

i have never been a fan of the combat of haven and hearth, especially the melee combat. it was very confusing to me and it made me miss out on a lot the game has to offer. a fellow villager told me he was going on a hunting trip and asked if i wanted to come along. i said sure.. and one thing led to another.. now i love hunting! marksmanship combat is very easy to learn and very effective. the perfect combination for my play style. here are the spoils of our hunting trip.

Nice! I just killed my first boar not to long ago and it felt so good, revenge after weeks of being chase and knocked out.
I'm going to try to kill a deer this weekend, hopefully sunday night I'll be eating Deer Dogs.

Deer are hard to kill in groups cause they can heal eachother and themselfs for 80+.. Good luck friend.. and im so going to make a cape out of my bear.. it was so enjoyable skinning him and butchering him and eating some of his meats...

yeah those deer will be tough. good luck.

my only complaint about the hunting is that you lose so much experience because you have to break combat when the animals run away.

If you have somewhat decent armor then you should engage the animals in close combat, even when using a ranged weapon. They don't run away so fast when they get the chance to use some combat moves on you.

Glad you enjoy hunting.
Hunting's fun, sure, but you don't want to neglect your crops for it. I always farm my crops and take care of things decaying around my home before I go for a hunt.

Little tip for safe bear hunting.

first, make sure the bear is trapped on two sides by water or something it cant get through. make sure your stamina is maxed out. now pummel it with rocks till it runs away. now punch at it, if you've done it right, you'll catch up to the bear before it can outrun you (because of the things it has to turn at) and land the strike. whether you hit or not, once you see the animation for the punch, the bear will chase after you, but will not attack you at all. you can effectively pummel it with rocks while it just stands there and takes it, if your clever, you can pin it against a river or cliff. I say this because when the bear goes berserk it will actually try to run from you and if its pinned, you can punch at it and get it to stay. I believe punching before throwing the rocks will have the same effect.
