Reforming IRC Moderation

Postby Delamore » Tue Aug 24, 2010 5:06 pm

The #Haven channel started as an area for goons to discuss H&H, and slowly grew from there. Now it is more of a joke as people are banned at the whims of a few people.
The channel is treated as an official one with a sticky and the fact that Pachos client connects to it by default, so it's time it acted like one.
All the current moderation aside from Jackard, Froggeryz and Sabinati have been removed and I will replace them with active members from IRC.

If you wish to suggest someone or yourself who you think would be a good moderator for the channel, post here with your IRC name and why you think you/they would be a good mod.

Both devs hang around IRC, yet they prefer to stay hidden and not have any power.

I am not hanging out in irc that often anymore, but I would suggest D1G. He is online much, he is competent and willing to help and I don't think he would ban people for minor reasons.

Refusal to enforce rules, or enforcing them capriciously and arbitrarily, is one of the chief characteristics of tinhorn internet forum moderation- Me

I think it's made of bubbles and hate.
