Houses suggestion for new player

Postby free8082002 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:39 pm

Some ss of my houses.

One inside a copper mine. Outside a "fake" house, some thieves and griefers don’t examine carefully. The cabin is necessary for make furniture.

The other in a cave, not original, many ppl do this. In this cave a tin mine. Too deep for my taste. Caves can have more than one entrance/exit. Same thing, house hide entrance.

Both cases amazing storage space. I use Pacho client for the ss because need lots lights for the details.

"New player" usually mean "no mines".

They are also good for temporary claims, and as you said Pachos resolves the ligthing problems. Caves could be a good place for underground cities (sounds cool) if quality layers were implemented on them.

I don't really get it, you can build houses on top of mines?

Then do you build a cellar to get into the mine?

No, I assume he builds the house in front of the mine so that the sprite of the house hides the mine hole behind it. You'd only see there's a mine behind the house if you walked behind it and get the yellow outlines.

That trick with the house doesn't cut it anymore. There's now a client with x-ray that's available for the public.

Just a heads up. You should really brickwall your place ASAP.

Also, having a smelter and a crucible on your claim tends to alert everybody that you have a mine.

I suppose there isn't any easy way to hide it (smelter) though.

Only way is to build your wall perimeter wide enough so the ppl looking from outside cannot see far enough into your settlement to see the cave/mine hole.
