I already knew that villages have to be avoided (since I've played previously), so we traveled far away from the closest village. Once we found a good spot (average sized island), we created 1 shared claim.

Well, there were other claims on the island (about 5) as well, 1 of them occupying the clay spot. I created a mini claim there to ensure that they wouldn't hog the whole clay area. All was well for 2 weeks. We were constantly growing while our neighbor seemed to just cut trees. It was still strange, because we never saw them..

Today they created a shitty village. The area is HUGE. They instantly removed my claim from the clay spot. Since they got such a huge area within ~12 hours (while we were working/sleeping) I think that our little base which we are very proud of, shares the fate of my mini claim within the next 2 weeks.

Although they were never offensive previously, the fact that they "captured" my mini claim means that we can no longer get any clay. It's a clear sign of hostility towards us. Any advices what we should do now?

imo you should have build your claims bigger so they couldn't just remove it easily with a newly build village claim...

Should have secured your area with your own village claim first...

In terms of what you can do right now? Not much really... unless you got people willing to murder them... or if they can be reasoned with... technically all your stuff is now theirs. Or join up with their village (doubt you want to do that).

If you can't do anything against them, just pack what you can and move... if you still got your walls up, then steal all your stuff and move it to a safer place and keep the gates shut so they cant track you down.

But if they removed several claims, are you sure their authority isn't under 50,000? if it is then quickly break their village idol or move your stuff off before its "claim" reactivates above 50k.

What q was the clay?

Wowza, that's some damn good clay. If you were digging there you were ruining extremely valuable clay, you're lucky to be alive.

BTW, if the owners are reading this, PM me for trade.

Well I never really wanted this to end as a trade topic so I'll just clear everything.

Well, at least now i know who was stupid enough to dig down that clay node more than 15 q points - which exactly was the reason we village-claimed it, to stop it from being destroyed because someone needed bricks for walls (or whatever).

Sorry about removing the claim N of the box we built, but it was in the way to overlay the wall with an additional personal claim for enhanced security.
No worry though that we'll invade your settlement there, we're to lazy to do that unprovoked.

I'm offering to party the ex-owner so he can move his stuff away from the field without leaving scents.

The usual disclaimer: leaving scents might get you killed in this game...
