CAVEAT LECTOR: Regarding the Forums.

Postby jorb » Tue Jul 28, 2009 5:03 pm

The issue?
These forums are unmoderated at the moment. Loftar and I, the dashing developer duo, do not have time to babysit.

The issue, and you?
You, dear reader, are about to plunge headfirst into the collected musings of a (probably not so) random slice of the pie-chart that is humanity. Pie does not always live up to its promise of savory taste, and refreshing sugary goodness, and nor do humans.

You might read things here that you do not agree with.
You might read things here that are offensive, both in the general and personal sense.
Kids really do say the craziest things.

What you can do about it!
As you are certainly one to think in terms of solutions, here are a few quick tips:

1) Be polite. It won't kill you.
2) Please keep the personal insults to a minimum. Even Loftar knows that Loftar is an idiot, so he doesn't need to hear it after each post he makes. (<-- He's going to edit this sentence. <--)
3) This is not a dramallama petting zoo. Contrary to a lot of popular misunderstandings on the subject, the internets are not serious business. Try to keep srs bzns to a minimum. This could be you!
4) Walls of text are a dev privilege, try to keep your posts short and concise. Risk of "tl,dr" increases with post length.
5) Forum language is English, danskjävlar!
6) POST TOPICS ARE IMPORTANT! Make them specific! Make them count!

The moar you know!

*sniff* What's wrong with postings long enough to be comprehensible, and state more than a single half baked idea?

Nothing. Carry on. :)

No. The point is not that you should be afraid to write stuff. Just, be concise, that is all. :)

I try, but it can be hard to express relatively simple things in few words in English :(

It was not necessarily aimed at anyone. Don't worry.

I know, just kidding around a bit. But I can imagine it's pain to read multiple long replies, and AFAIK you guys read most of the threads here. So I promise I'll try to reform. Also, another sentence to make this post a bit longer :P
