Stat Balancing: Worthwhile?

Postby Colbear » Tue Jul 28, 2009 11:50 pm

See title. Is it worthwhile to try and balance your stats so that they're roughly even, or should we all just be pumping str (and maybe con), since they're the only two stats that actually have a noticable affect on gameplay? What do you do?

I balance my stats, just because of the promise of uses for the other stats in the future. It's really the smart thing to do, as, you'd be totally ruined if you pumped strength and constitution after J&L implemented super uses for the other stuff.

i suggest to balance them, as you never know how important/unimportant a stat will be in the future. and with character wipes probably not taking place, you might need the stats in the new world aswell.

This is what I was afraid of. :( My weak stat's got a 30-point gap from my strong stat, which means upwards of 400 fep extra needed in it because of that skew. Whelp, time to start eating grapes.

balance is useless but it's worthwhile because it allows you to raise any stat without eating outrageous amounts of food. If all stats are about the same you wont feel like raising a stat is that hard, or even unfair or unbalanced.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

It's worthwile, whether it is the best decision is another matter that can be debated upon.
*shrugs* i don't think being balanced or unbalanced is a good/bad idea, merely different ways.

I keep mine balanced. Also, I believe the only one currently completely useless is cha.

I also agree with your priorities. That's why I'm a barbarian. I get non-balanced results with balanced FEP consumption.

Technically, it's not completely useless. You need 25 charisma to be dubbed Chieftain.

I, and my entire village make it a point to balance our stats. It means we're much less powerful than most of the super players, even though we've been on almost as long, but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end. Lately I've been boosting my strength five or six points above the rest of my stats in order to break things easier, but I'm still much more even than the noticeably powerful players.

Many of we old hands have been doing this, and soon I think it will pay off.
