Trees need to respawn or else this game is gonna tank. New players will be screwed and that will stifle the influx of new players.

Yeah as it is now you need to replant trees on your own.

I hope there's a natural regrowth system that gets added for the next map.

firs regrow faster on forests, they can also make new forest tiles

You need a treeplanters pot (make it with pottery skill). Fill the pot with 4 clay and 1l of water, then put in a seed (fir cone, apple core or mulberry) and put it on a herbalist table to sprout. The time it takes to sprout and success chance depends on your nature/industry slider. At full nature, 100% of your saplings will sprout in two hours. If you let the saplings sit too long (8 hours I think) they'll die, so plant them soon. If you're going for lumber, firs are the best choice as a full grown fir gives two logs.

Also, if your EVER planning on doing some silk-production, get a mulberry tree planted in a secure but easily accessable to you place, the silkworms feed off the leafs that come from mulberry trees.
