Two steps into the water and your deleted?

Postby eyerobot » Thu Nov 04, 2010 10:04 am

Like the topic says, I toggled swimming, took two steps along the shallow water, And bam i'm deleted.
I have a very large farm, that my wife and I built from nothing. And now my character is deleted?
What kind of stupid idea is that?

So now all my hours of playing are pissed away for nothing, And im supposed to be so happy to go start a new character! I dont think so.

I tolerated the terrible graphics, Because I enjoy building and crafting things, I extremely hate the combat system in this game though. It needs to be simplified to use graphical attacks, Not numbers like your playing some old fashioned board game.
Taming animals needs to be simplified too, It's rediculous to have to do so many things to make it work.
And you really need to make metal more available, Or nobody is going to stay in this game, except for the few people that want to join an existing village. But for the average player out there, They dont want to have to rely on handouts from other people to play a game. They want to do it themselves.
It's not fair to new players, To have to play a game where they know they can never be strong on their own. And the people that have the metal are always going to exploit them in some way. If we want to see that crap we would watch the news on tv.

As for me, I'm done here.
Maybe i'll stop in a year from now, And see if there have been any improvements.

That sucks. I'm sorry to hear you spent so much time on your character and land just to have it taken away from you in one fell swoop.

I guess even video games have their version of natural selection though, this one especially, considering the information that may have saved your character was only a few clicks away.

It's not like you lost everything, you can reincarnate and still have all your stuff and land except what was on the character when he drowned.

It sounded a bit like you didn't enjoy this game from the beginning though, maybe it just isn't something for you. If you just want to build and craft things, try out Farmville or Minecraft.

Also, alpha stage, free game, yadda yadda yadda.

Also

Isn't the journey its own reward? If they're pissed away for nothing then you apparently didn't have fun doing it. Otherwise it wouldn't have been for nothing.

And an advice: Never ever play Dwarf Fortress. Never. Ever.

How generous of you. :)
