Postby krawco » Thu Nov 04, 2010 10:33 am

Everyone post their favourite pieces. And put some effort in it, best, follow my pattern =)

Here we go!
Paula Perry - Y'all chickens make me laugh
MindsOne - Legion of Doom
Charlie Sloth - How to grow Green this one is kinda interesting ^^

PS: Please spare me all Lil Wayne, Akon, Soulja Boy and other radio / mtv mainstream bullshit.

Have fun! =D

well, it used not to be mainstream.
as is the case with most artists, so hating on 'mainstream bullshit' is mostly a pretentious bullshit stance.
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION

I don't really have any favourites that I can think of, what I listen to changes on a daily basis.

I'm a big fan of the old school rappers too, obviously the usual Tupac and Biggie, but I also really like NWA, KRS-One, Run-DMC, Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Flash.

The list goes on for awhile.

A bit of what I've been listening to a lot lately though would be Lupe, The Roots, Dead Prez, Shwayze, and Eminem just to name a few.

I also must admit I do listen to the mainstream artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and probably a bunch of other no name rappers that are all under the same retarded record label. I do agree most of what they put out is complete garbage, but once in awhile a miracle is performed and some these artists can actually make something lyrically beautiful happen if they put their minds to it.

Maybe not a favourite, but if I had to pick something I've been listening to a lot lately, it would be this:

Stuff becomes mainstream because it's good stuff. If you don't listen to it because it's mainstream... that's pretty stupid.

Oh lolz. Stuff becomes mainstream because it appeals to the lowest common denominator not because it has any intrinsic higher quality...

I guess that depends on your definition of "good".

yeah, but mainstream stuff doesn't need to be bad either.
just as underground shit can be both good and shitty.

i try judge music only by the way the music sounds, not by who else listens to it/ what sort of image it has. I like a lot of different musics, both UNDERGROUND radical stuff and some mainstream bullshit.

Where's is your track?
If you wanna speak here post a fuckin track first, then share your wisdom.

Some fun pieces by Jon Lajoie:
Everyday normal guy 2
WTF collective
Radio Friendly Song not rap but damn funny =D

And seriously:
J-Live - The best part
Ahmad ft. Ras Kass & Saafir - Come Widdit
Kardinal Offishal - Ol' Time Killin'

Rather laid back tracks. Next time I'll come up with more serious shit =p

edit:

I second this.
I guess that's why I've written 'mainstream bullshit', not just mainstream. Didn't think about it at that time but it turned out good =p
