Gate Problem with a crash

OK so heres what happened. I just finished the constructing of my gate, right before the server crashed. When I got back on, my key was gone, but the gate remains. So...uh...now what? I can't open it obviously without the key, do I have to destroy it and rebuild?

Destroying a section of wall and re-building the gate there may require less effort, if the gate location is not critical...
