In-Game Art(?)

Postby HawtPokkits420 » Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:37 pm

Hey, I was bored one day and goofing off in game, and figured I'd see if I could try some sprite recreation with the crops. I had some seeds left over, so me and one of my village mates helped out. Wanting to share this with everyone because it actually turned out pretty good. I'm gonna post the images and links (in-case they don't show). I would like to see some other images and ideas if anyone is interested in trying their hand at it. Ok, so in the words of those famous brothers, "Here we go":

Here's the Original I based it from. SMB2 Luigi - NES:

And here's the final product:

I know copying a sprite over like that isn't much to brag on, but it is kinda fun. And it's pretty awesome to see a giant Luigi outside the village gates lol.

make it large enough for it to appear on the world map. Like the sodom Spider.

Hey thanks everyone for the kind input and comments. I'm gonna take up some of your suggestions mix them up and here's what came out. The next project will be a (hopefully) a Mario large enough to be seen from the world map (maybe not full zoom out, but if you was looking for it you'd see it). It will be a mario jumping sprite, via SMB3, along with a ? block and mushroom, all paved with the new brick system. The Luigi was a 1:1 pixel to block ratio, the new project I'm aiming to do is 4:1 so I just gotta find me a nice large plot free from cliffs. If that turns out looking epic, I may start offering to build plots like that for others (for a minimal fee of course  ). Wish me luck, and I hope to see everyone elses creations too!

Edit: Jorb posted when I was posting this, to get a "fucking awesome" from one of the creators is indeed a badge of achievement for me. Thanks Jorb.

You'll have to privately provide mqrius with an update of your map-area, for it to become visible from space.

Good luck!

Surprised by how well it turned out given the finicky nature of the crop sprite system.
