Which do you prefer?

Fir Forest
Pros:
3-4 logs from each tree
Boughs on every tree
Cons:
No easy sources of food

Birch Forest
Pros:
Apple trees for starving newbs
More visually attractive
Birchbark baskets are more effective than wicker
Cons:
Less logs from trees
Only Elm trees bear boughs

So, which is your favorite? Did I forget any pros/cons?

I prefer a Birch Forest.

I kinda like both really. I'm partial to the fir forest because I live in the NW of the USA, and it's very much rain-forest here with old growth Fir.

On the other hand, I like the deciduous forest for it's greater variety of trees, and yes, the food sources.

Fir forest. I'd rather live in a coniferous forest and import deciduous trees than the other way around.

They are called coniferous and deciduous (evergreen vs broadleaf) respectively.

I want to know how in the heck you are getting 4 logs from ANY tree, and how you are getting boughs from the pine trees. (Tall, naked looking ones.)

Why choose? I live in a fir forest, right next to a lake and a birch forest.
