What do you mean by win? Your question was asking how they get good in such a short amount of time, you never mentioned anything about winning something.

The fact is, players who are "good" as you put it, are good because they worked at it. They spent the time working up the quality of their items by themselves or with a village, they went out and spent hours hunting for mines, or resource nodes and then they hunted, or farmed, or did whatever else to grind up as much LP as possible and raise their skills and stats.

No one was instantly a good player. It takes time and dedication, and sitting at your computer crying because you don't have the items they worked for is only a waste of your own time.
