fishing question

ive just started to fish after doing everything else in the game i thought this would be a good idea to try. I use earthworms but i have to constantly equip another worm after i get a fish, is there a way to auto equip and keep fishing? at the moment its sooo tedious.

When i use a rock lure, i dont get it everytime but i dont have to open inventory to equip after every fish.

Yeah any bait you have to attach to your rod after every catch while lures can last awhile. Whether to use bait or lures depends on what fish you want to catch or just how you like to fish (sometimes i lure fish while watching tv or something). Since you are new to fishing another thing to remember is that the phases of the moon also affect what type of fish you can catch.

although say like... sturgeon, they are the only fish in shallows in rivers that can be caught with earthworms, so youd only get them regardless

You can use lures, but it takes longer for a fish to bite and they break constantly.

EDIT: And I can't believe nobody's brought this up so far, but this is in the wrong section.

Actually, you can catch plaice with earthworm in shallows, I believe around new moon but it's been a while since I fished for them so I might be wrong on this last part. Oh, and all shallows are the same, just like deep water, the game itself can't tell apart rivers and lakes.
