Finding clay is virtually impossible

Postby Shask » Wed Dec 29, 2010 3:59 pm

Just throwing that out there. I've been digging in shallows for about half an hour, boating around, just trying to find even a Q10 node for my noob hermit. Nope.

I'll trade you clay for linen. Hell yeah. Just stay on your farm and make that linen and we'll worry about the rest!

Okay, fuck it, I give up. All I wanted was some Q10 clay, but after 40 minutes digging in shallow waters I've had enough.

No, I won't trade you. You'd think low quality clay would be accessible. Guess not. Next thing you know, new players will have to trade for the scarce resource known as "logs".

Edit: I'm in one of the new supergrids, could this be why? Like it hasn't been created in the new grids?

If you're looking for a decent clay node you're probably going to have to invest several hours of time depending on how lucky you are. Clearly though your luck is bad at the moment if you are having trouble finding even Q10 (Which by the way is pretty useless and you should really try to be aiming higher).

If this is your attitude after a bit of time searching for a resource though this game probably isn't for you anyways.

Edit: No.

Probably not. Another thing to look for is mud flats (big brown spots on the map). You can find acre clay in those.

Sometimes it can seem unreasonably difficult to find clay depending on where you're at, but they're usually not that uncommon. A lot of resources go overlooked.

Edit: And if you're really desperate get your Perception and Exploration up and you can start seeing grey clay along the water edge (best in lakes). At full industry you're guaranteed to get 2 clay per harvest which does add up.

Lol, check this out.

In 40 minutes I couldn't find a single piece of Q10 clay anywhere.

In 20 minutes I've found 3 mines.

Edit: Above post is on my ignore list, I don't know why but I can't see your post xD
