In the real world, trees grow from the seeds dropped by fully grown trees, which is why forresters leave a certain amount of trees up when they cut lumber. The ones left behind help the forest regenerate. So I'd like to see that as a possibility; then if we'd only cut 2/3 of a forest, leaving just a thinner forest, it would grow back.
