Just Started

Well, I would just like to formally introduce myself to the community of this game. From what I have seen, this is the first game that I have seen that what you do actually makes a difference to the game world, and effects other players depending on the type of action. I have wanted to play such a game for quite a while, and now that I have stumbled upon this game, I finally have the opportunity to do so. While I am on the topic of being new to the game, any threads I should read before starting? Any general knowledge that I would probably be best to be informed about?

Be advised that the wiki can be inaccurate at times.

If there's anything unclear after that, search the How Do I forum. If you don't find what you're looking for, make a thread there.

Don't buy swimming, claim your stuff, build a palisade ASAP and stay safe.

Oh, and welcome, and have fun :)

Hello there and welcome to Haven&Hearth. There are indeed a couple of threads you should read before starting out or posting questions.

First have a look at this newbie guide: http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3196

Should any questions during your game time come up try to consult the wiki: http://havenandhearth.wikia.com/wiki/Haven_and_Hearth_Wiki

The "How do I?" section of the forums is there for any questions the wiki can't answer.

Note that not only do you have almost endless possibilities in H&H, others do too, which can mean they take the role of a jerk or griefer. This game involves permadeath and you might also face loosing all your possesions from one day to the other. You should better get used to those facts quick, because it will happen sooner or later.

For advanced protection read the 2 guides in my signature.

Edit: Damn it, potjeh. Gonna post this none the less now that it took me so long to write it :P

Permadeath? Makes the game even better. Thanks for the links, will be sure to read up on those before I start playing.

Go for farming. Expanding fields and harvesting, sowing crops can give you a lot of LP, not to mention food ingredients.
What a shame, he was a good fish. What a rotten way to be filleted.
