To quote the bottom of the main page:
Total posts 15816 • Total topics 1383 • Total members 1921 • Our newest member SerpeJin

There are many many players, though not all actively play, and I would guess a large amount of them are alt accounts.

Yay for being the 75th person to sign up! The game has grown so much since I joined...

The forum information isn't quite accurate, though -- forum accounts are created "on demand" the first time one actually enters the forum, so if someone creates an account, but doesn't use the forum, it won't count.

Some statistics: The total amount of registered accounts, right now, is 3820, though far from all are active, of course. Ever since Delamore recruitment drives on 4chan and Facepunch, there have been around 50-150 players logged in simultaneously. Before that, it was usually between 20-80. Since 09:35 UTC this morning (when the log files last rotated), that is in the 8½ hours, there have been 362 unique accounts actually playing. During the same time, 75 new accounts were registered. Before the recruitment drives, there were usually 200-300 unique accounts playing in a typical day. Exactly what that means with alts, I don't really know.

Please explain this to me, the forums have led me to believe that goons can only be bad, so how is this possible?

^naah, man, you got it all wrong. Facepuch is a videogame forum, and we from 4chan are from a videogame board on it as well. So, as i only speak for the 4chan side of the recruitment process, we just want to bro out. And the term "Goon" comes from something awfull.com, so that really has nothing to do with this.
