Haven & Hearth

A little story I made about H&H on the Blockland Forums.

Haven & Hearth is a game that is so simple, that almost anyone can play it. But the depth to simplicity is what makes it great. When you build your first house, you are granted things you couldn't imagine, when you chop a tree the tree doesn't regenerate, all that's left is a log or two, and a stump, which can be molded into new things. Turn the stump into a post to hold the torches that light your night. Make the logs that you felled from the tree into a house to keep you safe from the forces of nature. Build a fence to keep the shoethirsty animals out.

Now that you have secured your resources, you encounter your first player. Turns out he is a new player like yourself and you join teams. Now you build multiple houses and encounter many new players and your camp grows into a small village. Your life is so perfect that you forget the dangers.

One of your villagers turns on you and murders your whole village and claims it as his own! What do you do? Wait for a respawn? Nope. Death is permanent. All of the things you worked for just slipped out of your hand.

What now? You search around and join a great city and train yourself up. You find out you are near your old village. Once you build yourself stronger you go back to the village to find...? Your murderer is dead! Now someone else is in control of your resources. Your heart rests until a rival village places the last straw on the camel's back and war erupts. Many are lost, fewer are saved.

You just became a part of history in Haven & Hearth.
