The Ghost sightings of World 4.

Alright, so me and my good friend RedChu live next to a pretty big lake that has a beach. (Probably 7 minimaps long, 6 minimaps wide.) Yes, the size is important. So anyways, I was deforesting an area for the lolz and LP, and this guy scared the crap out of me. Was just a normal newbie, Linen cloths, Newspaper cap or whatever. And a Fishing pole. So when I see him,

ToshiroHayate: Hello!
???: hi

He walks off screen. I follow just because I'm bored, and he's gone. Like, poof. Thought maybe he HF'd or something. Well, 2 minutes later, Redchu whispers me and says:

RedChu: LOL this dude with a fishing pole just scared the hell out of me.

So I asked him for information of the guy. Same guy. Apparently he says hi and walks off screen and poofs. Now the interesting part is he's on the OTHER side of the whole lake. Then another 5 minutes later I seen him again. In a totally different direction.

???: hi

And he walks off screen. I didn't even bother to follow him that time.
By the way, this guy was on foot the entire time. No boats.
RedChu thinks it's a ghost. xD

I think it's just weird. What do you guys think?

I think yes, it is most probably this person is a ghost. It is known that there were many murdered in World III. You may say "But that was World III, Dude, and this is World IV. How could they be here?" But remember, the new world has been recreated on the same server and ghosts being ethereal would have the ability to transfer from one piece of software to another. If he is a ghost it is very possible he does not even know he has gone from one world to the next.

But unless you described him to your friend and are certain that it is the same person, it is also possible that it is simply yet another n00b sensibly using hearth travel as a means to explore. I think there will be many people still in World IV that wear linen and carry a fishing pole.

The last explanation I can think of is the most sinister. It is also known that in the worlds there are god-like spirits called "devs" who have supernatural powers. It may be that this person you saw was one of these. In that case it is likely that the god-spirit was spying on you!

Now if this person is a simple ghost or one of two n00bs there is no reason to fear -the ghost of El Gato I might fear, but this is only a n00b. If you see them, ask them if they know which way is Constantinople. If they they recognize the name and do not find anything strange in the question, I think they are a ghost. However if the soul you spoke to was the soul of a dev, you should know that they are exceedingly dangerous, having the power to turn your best weapon to q5, delete you, ban-hammer you and can kill you with the press of a single key. Therefore if you become certain they are a dev, and ONLY if you are certain they are a dev, I would advise you to attack them and fight to the death. Sightings of a dev are rare. There is nothing greater than to have the bragging rights that, "My grandfather was killed in battle with a Jorb!" So go for it. Your character is young and you have only your life to lose.

This is kind of interesting, maybe it has something to do with the noob that stole like 12 bones from me and a whole table of meat and left a sign that said "Hi. I'm a ghost, I see you're hungry so have 2 chantrelles." He stole the hides off of my racks too...
