Are there any unpopulated areas, anywhere?

Postby Cassial » Fri Feb 04, 2011 1:00 am

Heyo.

Used to play in world 3, restarted in world 4 with a pal. We searched for quite a while for an area with no people when we first got here, but never could find one. So, we settled on a heath that seemed relatively empty... Two days later, we discover a large Russian settlement up north. We sigh, but carry on anyway. No big deal. A week and half later, however, and our livestock is all gone except for a lone cow renamed with Russian characters. Pots and containers moved all over, chicken coop smashed... Etc, etc. And yes, we had claims. Nice, big, fat ones.

SO.

We want to move away from any large gatherings of people yet again, but we're afraid we'll NEVER find such a place in this new game world.

Thoughts and opinions? Has anyone else ever found any unpopulated areas, or is the whole world full of griefer camps waiting to pounce?

I've only been "griefed" once, and it involved someone chopping down the trees on my island and putting a runestone with an unkind message next to my house.

Unlikely, as the map size has shrunk drastically and judging by the amount of time passed. Regardless, best of luck to you.

I seem to remember boating by a fairly small island, it was skinnyish and long ish, and it had a house or two and no trees, also no boat. Was this your island by any chance?

Naw. Mine has a few trees left, and is sorta triangle shaped. No boat, though. :( Someone jacked mine, and nuked my trees.

You could try moving to the NW part of the world, I heard that is relatively safe and empty.

OP: a wall should be higher on your list of priorities than livestock.

Well, if you've got friends you can trust, you can wall off a fairly large area. I once had a neighbour who played with a few other guys, and they had a decent palisade wall. Russians got in anyway. (They were the same ones who raided New NB too.) Otherwise, you're going to have to have a lot of time on your hands.

As someone living in the NW can I dispel this rumour please.

In fact i'd wager unless your capable of getting a palisade up in 2 days maximum then the north west is not for you. A lot of good peaceful people have been killed up here for no reason at all.
