Lookout guys.
Google is already your search engine.
It wants chrome to be your web browser.
It wants you to pay for ads using adwords then turn around and make pennies on those ads using adsense while they make the larger chunk.
It is already trying an operating system.
It already offers email.
It bought youtube to parse the videos you watch.
It would like you to use its phone.
It makes tools and extensions to keep you dependent on it and get into the "cloud". Google docs, maps, places, blogs - what don't they have their fingers in.
Google wants to know every keystroke you make online and is even trying to buy a more companies and antitrust is coming into play.
I'd be a little concerned about jumping on chrome for everyday browsing. Doesn't google already know enough about you

It used to be a search engine company and now it's involved in everything - absofreakinglutely everything.
They already said they will never purge the info they store on you and they don't have to - it could be fun OP to make add ons for chrome but being wary can't hurt because Google is beating Microsoft for trying to be "needed" by you before they start making demands on you.
Where do you think they got all that money? It's from advertisers paying for better ways to advertise to you. They want to know if you search for yellow or blue panties and on what days of the week. They want to know that your tooth hurts and offer you a dentist and then turn it against you for healthcare when you go in with "pre-existing conditions". No one will believe you google searched for a friend about what herpes looks like or the like lol According to google, you should be getting some herpes medicine ads soon - they now think you need them.

The only reason I posted this was because you posted how "FREE!" it was so I understand that I'm straying a bit off topic but offering a buyer beware.
