Town / Location name lore

Wikipedia wrote:Eastern Slavic mythology includes stories of a powerful dark wizard or a demon, Koschei the Deathless, who evades death by having his fiery soul placed in the eye of a magical needle. The needle is inside an egg, which is inside a duck, which is inside a hare, which is locked in an iron chest placed at the roots of a great oak tree, which is in a hole in the ground on the magical island of Buyan.

So that's where it comes from... pah. I accidentally stumbled upon it, while researching about the origins of liches. It struck me quite hard since... well, I hadn't thought about HnH for a long time. This made me want to come back and say, "HI! I found out what Buyan is, lolz."

Are/were there any other city names that have / had some deeper meaning, story, mythology or the likes?

P.S. I've been to Buyan several times, and if I remember correctly, there was no oak there. I am disappoint.

That actually makes a lot of sense.
W5: Sevenson
W4: Kail the Chieftain of Providence
W3: Crofton the Hermit

There was once a bear with crimson hair
He moved faster than Kail could see:
And took his fingers three.

for those who don't know, there was a xanadu in world 2, started by jorb, presumably named after either the summer capital of kublai khan's yuan dynasty in china, or inspired by the poem about it by samuel taylor coleridge. jorb's into that sort of thing.

there was also a xanadu in world 3, started by me, ironically named after the world 2 city, but also inspired by the video i posted earlier. i'm into that sort of thing.
