The wiki crashed?

Postby Villainous » Tue Mar 01, 2011 8:38 pm

Everytime I try to enter the site, it gives me a 502 Bad Gateway error. What's up with that?

Yeah it was like that at 4 AM my time, it would be fine for a few mins then crash again. Surprised it's still acting up.

Patience people. Wikis are a pain in the arse, I know, I have to administer one where I work. I think he's using nginx too, I don't know why anyone chooses to use that webserver. Seems like it only does one thing really well, crash and burn. Sorry, make that two things.

You can always do a google search and view the cached page (assuming google has indexed it) if you really need some information.

To be fair, it does seem that he's using nginx as a reverse proxy, and that it is the server behind it that has crashed and burnt.

Nope, not a reverse proxy. The server's doing just fine, as is evidenced by havenbot piping along nicely. php-cgi keeps crashing and burning for some reason.

I see; does it serve those error pages when a FastCGI server isn't responding?

Just out of curiosity, what was the problem?

Yup. I haven't a clue what the actual issue was though, the error logs were clean. I have a feeling it may have had something to do with the log files getting to be too large and not rotating correctly, but I'm not positive. Restarting it seems to have fixed the issue though. For now :x
