The fact that they can lose all their shit is good enough for them.

As long as there are some assholes, that's plenty of reason for them to run.
If a newbie were not to run, each time meeting a player would be a round of russian roulette (pardon the pun) and s/he wouldn't last long.

Most people you meet here on the rivers start following you as soon as they see you - and this is supposed to be one of the more peaceful regions of the map.

sometimes its also better to take the risk and hope it pays off. take my story for instance. back in my noob day's i seen a guy killing a bear and when he talked to me he rammed my boat by "accident" in the middle of the river and almost made me drown, however when i started talking to him it turned out he was a cool guy, who invited me to his village, best move i ever made

Let us reflect upon the good he was able to do during his short time in the hearthlands.
Let us remind ourselves of his bravery and willingness to fight for the safety of his friends!
Let us hope he can surpass his previous achievements in his future lives.

yeah sometimes I talk to strangers, too.But it depens on their equipment, how they talk, how many and my gut feeling.

I think I could take an random griefer in a fight but when I encounter groups I'm always very very careful.

I guess hermiting makes you paranoid and xenophobic :D

before i knew where i was on the map i was trying to ask people if they knew, but it was very difficult since they always ran the moment they saw me

i actualy had to chase after one person before i got him to stick around long enough to tell me where the hell i was
i really need to find a good signature
