A Live Stream for Science!

Postby Shousha » Mon Mar 14, 2011 11:46 am

EDIT: And we're done! Results are posted here (page 2, near the bottom).

Hello! My name is Shousha, and tonight, I bring you what will hopefully be a combination of science and entertainment.

Click here to tune in. For more information, keep reading.

I've taken issue with the new changes to the LP system, as others have. I've been debating with others in the announcement thread. At one point, the moderator by the name of burgingham made the following statement:

burgingham wrote:WWW can be found at 10 exp*10 perc. That is easy to get in a couple of hours.

I responded with skepticism and asked how this would be possible. He responded with the following:

burgingham wrote:You spawn characters till you land at the edge of the two types of forests. Now move your peaceful slider, change slider will follow. Start perfoming every single task you can possibly think of on trees, the ground and water. There are like 10 different kinds of trees, every special item they hold will reward you with 60 LP or something. Get a conecow right away, go to a grassland get dandelions. Buy hunting, raid ant hills with the techinique I described above. Ants are fast curiosities with great LP gains.

When you raise your exploration you will start to see more blueberries. Raise your intelligence to use more curiosities at a time. In the meantime perform new tasks you haven't done yet. Craft shit. Build a kiln, make coal, bricks, bone ash. Everything rewarding you with another 60 LP. Fishing is also great, for both intelligence food and getting LP for every different kind of fish you get and slice up/roast. It is really not that hard to find 100 different things to do for 6k lp.

At this point, I basically said "You're on".

I have decided to stream Haven and Hearth for two hours straight, following the guidelines set up by burgingham in a quest for science. I am skeptical that what he proposed is possible. My goal is to obtain exploration 10 before two hours are up, using the best of my abilities. At the end, the verdict will be left to you, the viewers.

The stream shall start shortly. I invite you all to tune in. It'll help pass the time whilst waiting for your curiosities to burn!

Sad thing is that it's true.

On topic, I like the radio.

This is indeed possible and we have done this. Having good curiousities helps in this as well.
