National law breaking players

Postby Zachiel » Mon Mar 14, 2011 10:20 pm

I haven't found a board for this type of report, so I'm writing my issue here.

I recently found two players from Poland (I'm also from there but those guys were typical "Polacks"). At first they were just insulting me and my parents, but I could just ignore it. After a few hours I logged back onto my char where I was starting my settlement. I found that they stole some of my stuff, but that's not a problem also. They left a runestone with a phrase
JAN PAWEL DRUGI J***L MALE DZIECI (without the censorship)
which after translation means
John Paul the Second fuc**d little children
. First of that's an insult to everyone who believed that John Paul was a great man (I'm not religious or anything). Secondly that's against Polish law, defamation is a crime here. I think there's a paragraph in every country for that. In my opinion such behavior should be punished. I believe there should be proof who made the stone in some server logs or something. I'm accusing them because I went to their settlement and found an identical runestone, that's honestly my only evidence.

If anyone is thinking about flaming this post, please do something more useful.

Fortunately, that is not the case, and it isn't going to be the case unless I get a court order that forces me to implement it.

Usually, it is, however, a civil case and not a criminal one, meaning that the defamed person needs to bring suit against the offenders. I would also think that the plaintiff would have to make a case that anyone actually believes what has been said, and/or that he has actually suffered damage from it, though I haven't ascertained that to be the case.

Fortunately and reasonably, insults aren't criminal. If you do feel insulted, it's your own responsibility to do something about it.

No one's ever going to do anything about it.

The only time you'll get a criminal offense brought against you over an online game is if you lived in fucking China or some shithole like that with oppressive, anti-Western politicians that have a log shoved up their tight assholes.

I really don't think some 12-year old boys spilling their collective brain leakage is going to make it into Polish court.
