I want to design a city!

So I have been searching all over for a program, or website I can use to design my village's city, unfortunately I have came up with nothing.
I am looking something like paint/ a whiteboard that has a grid, that you can also create box's or lines that snap to the grid.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Paint isn't enough? O.o? Draw the grid yourself and the use the squares to make squares, or the line.
At last, if you wanna a square of a certain pixel number, use photoshop. But paint is enough.

Surely there must a program somewhere that automatically creates a grid that allows you to fill it in.

I'm sure that the time that you use to search this program, was enough to end the work on paint. Do as you wish anyway XD

I use MS Paint.
1 pixel = 1 tile
Its enough for planing. If I managed to plan AD, it should be enough for your village.

yeah, paint is cool for towns, pavements/arts, and all other stuff you want to build ingame

edit: i was just going to tell you about gimp with an edit, well tele was faster...

GIMP has a grid tool. Photoshop-esque interface, freeware, small download.

Its enough for planing. If I managed to plan AD, it should be enough for your village.

Also - if you're using Windows 7 ( Vista upwards I suppose ) MS Paint comes with a grid tool ( optical ) to keep a better overview.
