A Modest Proposal: United Hearthlings

Postby ccog » Thu Mar 17, 2011 6:34 am

Since world one, Haven and Hearth has been plighted by large villages and coalitions waging war on all that stand in their way, be it a village equally as large as them or a hermit living in a cabin, chaos and violence has always plagued with this turmoil. After much thought on how we can hope to resolve this dilemma, I propose that The United Hearthlings be formed.

What is the United Hearthlings?
The United Hearthlings is a peace-keeping force that is designed to promote free trade and discourage the use of violence as a solution to the problems. The United Hearthlings will have power and will pose a threat to large village-states that threaten peace and prosperity in a region. Their vehicle of enforcement will be large groups of militants with only the goal of carrying out justice and ending the violence.

How do you propose The United Hearthlings acquire the resources and manpower needed to enforce their resolutions?
By volunteers composed of hearthlings who have grown tired of the ruthless occupation, exploitation, and deforestation that the tyrannical village-states commit. The actual place itself will be ran like a village with farmers, smiths, and leather workers that will provide supplies and food to the peace-keeping combatants. Outside villages can send donations if they have the faith in them, it can also run off of the loot of villages that refuse to back down and thus are plundered.

Who will compose the legislative body of United Hearthlings?
Representatives from villages. While we're at it, I should make it clear that, in my mind, representatives only come from established villages, not hermits living in a cabin. The United Hearthlings seeks to hold village-states accountable to their actions, not the bandit thats sleeping out in the woods.

Will you be running the United Hearthlings?
No, this is just a proposal by me, I have no intention of joining, at least not now.

The UN fails IRL and people actually die IRL. What makes you think it will work in a video game composed of teenagers?

Its an idea, I have no intention of enforcing it or carrying it out, just throwing it out there.

Until you have the strength to protect yourself, then you cannot protect anyone else.
