I wanted to say thanks guys! You've done an excellent job. You've refreshed the game and made it fun to play again. It's been an adjustment, but I'm getting used to it and I like it.
Just wanted to let you know.
Take care.

Agreed, I didn't think I'd like it when it was leaked that they would be doing this, but I've come to love it too :D

The system's a good balance between powergaming and casual play.

If I don't have time or interest for a few days I can just dump curios in my mindhole and get lp. If I do have time and interest I can go on the hunt for good shit like flotsam or just do what I want to instead of being concerned about how much lp I'm getting. On weekends I can get or make a bunch of curios for the work week. Or I can contribute to a group and give them to my village.

I'm glad this didn't end up like an EvE system where the gain over time felt static, but more than anything I don't feel useless because I work for a goddamn living.

But holy shit did some people bitch in the irc channels I've been in when w5 got started.

There is a guy around here that loves Jorb too, he even makes gifts in game for him!

Do you want see right through the devil's eyes?
You must have seen the ground where they all stood before
I was a young man then, I was a young man then
Spending my time on the killing floor
Be more than you seem to be
Joy of labour sets you free.

I also prefer how the new system works. Even if you don't live in an over developed town, you can still pump out the same, if not more, lp if you grind for it.

i think a community is still better, as its easier to get different intfood and curios

My point being a town isn't required to compete with LP gain.

I'm happy that i don't have to grind the LP anymore, now i can just do normal stuff while getting LP for it, like building roads to high Q spots, make houses, chop trees and such.

I was worried that I'd no longer feel like doing repetitive tasks like building without the LP rewards, but the game is at least as busy for me as it was!

It definitely doesn't feel like an EVE-style waiting game. I can't keep up with everything that needs to be done.

I don't know how anyone can ever have free time in this game.
