Dealing with random threats

Postby Nafaustu » Fri Mar 25, 2011 2:16 am

So i've played since world three and i've been really enjoying the same. (And I donated! :D ) I go out of my way to find places in the middle of nowhere with unremarkable resources just so I don't have to deal with random people who want to smash my crap or whatever because they have power issues. I go out of my way not to have anything of value. I claim and palisade tiny amounts of land. Usually, I don't have problems aside from random murder-rape outside my walls by...well I went over the smallness factor.

Now I have a problem and i'm not familiar with methods of dealing with it.

I was randomly trespassed with a get out threat carved on a stone giving me 2 days (from when I don't know, as a casual player I don't play every day). They were able to move and use the stone within my claimed land so they have more then trespassing. I can't even find myself on the map (ive tried, and I have some interesting landmarks, but there you go) so I can't exactly call for help. I'm tempted to load up my alts with the few valuables I have (mostly low-foraged curios) and wait and see what happens.

Anyone have suggestions? Can I be summoned and killed just because without having committed a crime anywhere? I'm sure I haven't even trespassed, not even on a river because I have the boundaries visible at all times.

Thanks for the help.

You don't have to worry about being summon killed unless you have, stolen, vandalized, knocked out, or murdered someone.
You may have foiled the plans of BAD-EVIL this time, but there is no rest for the wicked.

Nope, you can't be summoned without summonable scents.

Oh, sorry, late question. I read the hearth fires can be smashed. Is that possible, and if they were to do that, i'd be off in the wilds somewhere, correct?

If your hearthfire is destroyed you still have the option to log in where you logged out, but your option to log in at your hearth is replaced with the option to spawn in the wilderness.

It's likely an idle threat. Runestones are meaningless and most people cannot put up where their mouth is. You don't even need black skills to walk onto someones land with an object and drop it. If they were arbitrarily leaving theft and vandalism scents on your land to leave a runestone, then range them and see if you can't just summon kill them for their stupidity.

Also, always happy to have more neighbors if you'd like to live by.
