My thank you thread.

Well everyone, I want to say thank you for the great times I've had with H&H, this post will serve as my official goodbye. This game is one of the most addicting, unique, entertaining things I have ever come across. I know that J&L's future development efforts are going to be huge, and I'll be following you with GREAT interest. You have inspired me (a newly graduated programmer and sometimes aspiring game-developer) with some great ideas and concepts, and shown me just how far the limits can be pushed by a 2 man development team.

I joined during W4, and played it with massive devotion (and a massive amount of time spent :? ). I tried to give W5 a fair shot, i really really did. I told myself I was quitting, then coming back, then quitting, etc. At first I wasn't sure if the new system would be viable, but now I realize my problem is that I'm just not having fun with it anymore.
Thank you Jorb and Loftar for the amazing times and the great ideas, you two are truly talented. Good Luck on your future endeavors (I look forward to Salem especially) and thanks to everyone I met in game for making my time spent so memorable! Bye all!

lol nothing has changed (in terms of gameplay) between W4 and W5. If anything, the new system is MORE INTERESTING to play with. Nice QQ about nothing though.

You really have to be the most annoying rancid forum tumor I have ever seen.

Everything that diarrhea-drips from your mouth is critical of others, snide, and reaks of this inflated self-centeredness. Why don't you help this guy to enjoy the game more? Instead you are an arrogant twit.

Talk about the forums going to hell...

As for the guy who is quitting. Have you tried joining a group of friends? The game sucks at first, but once you can actively forage and make quite a bit of LP per day, typically via foraging and simple crafts, the game becomes even more enjoyable.

I think one of the most fun things to do is to go fishing, get leeches from the swamps as bait, pick dragon flies, get hungry by walking in the swamps, and pick things for your future LP.

Everyone bitched and moaned about the new system, but what really brought them down and drove them to quit was just losing everything they had in W4.

One night they logged off in a village with steel and high q everything, the next morning they woke up a yokel in a spruce cap.

We all have such egocentric views of the world. To the community as a whole, a few people complained and moaned -- a lot. They proclaimed themselves the unrepresented majority when vocal minority was more accurate. From there, most people picked up where they left off and rebuilt their homes and empires. To say that many people quit because things changed and they needed a new home is a gross misinterpretation of the player base (Our average is higher in W5 than it was in W4. Peak is also higher and the minimum touches at the average of what W4 had. We'll see if this trend continues as time goes on.)

We had steel and homes then and we have steel and homes now. How much fun a person has is based on their preferences and their situation. It's perfectly okay if someone decides that they are no longer having fun and takes a break or quits, this happens in games and in life alike.

If only every person would post a new thread about how they can't deal with the recent changes and that they're quitting the game because of it. Think of all the people we could help! ;)

Everyone playing should be prepared for this kind of loss.. even besides the possibility of server wipes.

very well said. you know when a server wipe is coming, but you never know when a raiding team might be right around the corner to 'wipe' your little corner of the world :)
