Jorb's sick social experiment

Promise a gaming population a new UNLIMITED area, then deliver a map largely rendered inaccessible by terrain barriers that affords approximately 1/4 of the previously accessible area.

You poor schmucks are going to have to squeeze into that ring and all hell will break out

It's true, too. Only about a quarter of the game world is accessible, and large portions of that are still locked of by rivers. Boats are definitely going to change that, and they are an unknown amount of time away. I just hope it's soon.
Surprise.

I hope it's far away. Not too far away, but a few dev sessions. I think the rivers make a good barrier. If you can swim across, you are probably ready for most of what is out there. That being said, as soon as I (and the others living with me) can swim across, we're doing so and getting the hell out of that small location before people fighting over land because they are too afraid to cross the water.

If your group doesn't mind you could join mine. Unless you already have plans. When boats come me and my town will be running the heck outta here. As you said this place is going to get too full too fast.

He doesn't, but I do. My Con is about 10 short of being able to cross the river.

there's a place that already has a village post west of me and my friend's camp. Called Swampcrazy or something. How they got a village post up this early amazes me.

That would be the temporary camp of the old guard from Bottleneck, SwampCrazed, a combined effort of more than 15 people to get a village started in the wilderness. Or what used to be wilderness anyways. Between all the hearth fires and the village idol, I wouldn't be surprised if we're down to level 3 after the next civ census.
