WTF just happend

so, i was playing like 30 minutes ago all fine, then i log out, have breakfast and go to log back in, and my character is gone.
-i have no scents leading to me.
-i was not in combat
i could not have been summoned because i dont have any black skills and the only thing i have done on anothers property is interact with a barter stand.

i would really like to know what happened as im pretty butthurt about this.
i had just got my char to levels where i liked him. and had a great influx of curio's

you sure you were logged out?

im very sure, because 1. i had to log back in to get to the char menu and realise im dead.
2. i pressed log out while not in combat or anything.

When you re-created your character was there a stone to inherit from?

yep, i inherited and everything and am now just continuing from where i was at. i managed to find my body about 3 minutes before it decayed, but the weird thing is, i wasnt attacked. he still had his armor on <though ive been attacked by a ninja-boar since then and lost it>

i really just want to know how he died, becuase as ive said.-he did not have any scents leading to him <besides i didnt die at my H.F>
and he was not in combat

My guess would be that in the same moment you logged out a boar or a bear aggroed you.

although its possible, it'd be extremly unlikely that i was mauled to death without the animal breaking my armor

well equally ulikely is that while you did log out, your char did not log out. It happened to me a lot in w3 and 4 when my java thing would crash. and very very rarely when I would log out. If scents are found at your place, but your corpse is not on your hearth, you may be the very unlucky victim of a glitch and a greifer.
