Why there's no global war in w5?

This is all just a build up phase right now. Once people start getting short of resources and 'infringing' on others' holdings, things will erupt.

My best guess is, since bot is no longer available, people would be really careful about starting large-scale warfare now, since once you die, there will be no way you can catch up with the winning side (in any realistic time anyway).

Is it really fair to say there were global wars in w3 or w4 either though? You had the occasional village v village conflict and some sieges but you've had those in w5 too, so what's the difference? You didn't hear anything publicly about most of the conflicts in w4 and you're not hearing anything publicly about the conflicts in w5.

this was the first one in a long time that i
just killed someone for the heck of it, and
because they had a merch robe on and thought
they were gonna kill me =p

And really, i knocked off most of his HP when
he was trying to get away because i was alone
with him asking questions, then boarded him
started knocking off HP, he runs, gives up, and
is soon knocked down by the friends jsut behind
me.

He probably still would have ran when i dropped
his bar by 80 percent in one punch *shrug*
